As many websites as there are out there it is easy to get caught up in a particular style and repetitiveness of layout and design. Once there is a design that works it seems there are thousands of sites that pop up with a similar layout. However, I feel it is very important to make your site stand out and have an individuality to it. For example carsonified.com has elements that appear to be hand drawn and created outside of the standard html. Simple things like the buttons and compositional layout ultimately result in a dynamic and effective contemporary design. Any website can be treated as such and just because you might be developing a site for a company that seems, for lack of a better term "generic" it doesn't mean there website and usability has to be as well. Overall I enjoy the design and creativity of this website.
